Ghostigital has returned from the USA, in one piece, and very happy. We should say in 5 piece as we were five in the band. We have done our 5 gigs in 6 days, with no loss of anything. Sanity was in place the whole excursion and we enjoyed it. Sensational joined us in New York in a monumental appearance and performance. Did we record it? Yes we did. And for the record: it will be on our live album.
Next weekend we are playing at the Reykjavik Trópík festival in Iceland, where we will perform most of our album In Cod We Trust. The venue is a tent, outside the University of Iceland. More festival appearances should materialize later in the week.

Some of the images from the trip, in a car, in a venue, in a group: ElVis, Frosti, Magic, E and Curver, with a view.
I have just read this: "[Ghostigital's] take on their pop idiom is a loud, languorous and mesmerizing thing to behold, and in this age of by-the-numbers pop tarts and inane radio rabble, it's refreshing to hear pure, undistilled poptopia delivered at ear-rupturing volume. All you need to do to enjoy it is sit back, relax, and watch for the pretty shapes after the blood hits the wall. "

This is from Chris in Portland. I missed the SF shows due to rafting commitments (I'm a part-time whitewater rafting guide). I guess I have to see you in Iceland again.
Is the live album going to include the recordings from the Perlan show? I thought that was going to come out last summer.
Thanks for thinking of us over on this side of the ocean. Enjoy all!
Chris
Posted by: ChrisPr at June 3, 2006 6:53 AMCouldn't find contact details so sorry this is not related to the blog/chat below - Just writing to say I think it sucks dogs ball that to enter the 'Iceland Electronic Scrongsters Ghostigita' competition you must be North American ( as terms and conditions state that all flights with Icelandair only leave from these gateways: New York (JFK); Baltimore/Washington (BWI); Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP), Boston (BOS) and Orlando (MCO) )
Perhaps in future when you're arranging promotions with a corporate, you can consider there's a lot of people in the world that don't live in the US (thankfully!)
...Shame I like your music so much
Posted by: c joh at October 19, 2006 1:32 PMThis Scrongster Comp was to coincide with our NorthEast- USA tour, hence the connection. If we do a tour elsewhere I do imagine that we will try to set something like this up, but it was done so that we could actually do the tour, and unfortunately we could not include more departure ports. Your point about that not everyone lives in the USA is totally lost on me, I come from Iceland, I am Icelandic and I reside here. Or am I being ignorant? And your last point c joh? I don't get what this competition has to do with liking our music or not? wow! rockon :)
