What Did Mr E Do?

This is fromMOJO who will have a full review in their next issue.

"Sub-zero Reykjavik was the venue for Friday night´s much-heralded Sugarcubes reunion. Playing for the first time in 1992, the Icelandic indie post-punks put on a thrilling show to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of their first single Birthday and to raise funds for their non-profit-making label Smekkleysa.
Taking to the Laugardalshöllinn stage, the band’s set spanned the three albums studio they released in their four year recording history –namely 1988’s Lifes Too Good, ‘89’s Here Today, Tomorrow, Next Week! and ‘92’s Stick Around For Joy.
Stuart Williams, MOJO’s man-on-the-spot, stated:

It was quite a remarkable set. Two decades on and these songs sound better than ever. Truly timeless. And the on-stage chemistry between Einar Benediktsson and Bjork was something to behold. It’s just a shame that it was a one-off.

The ‘Cubes’ set list reads as follows:Traitor, Leash Called Love, Deus, Water, Bee, Planet, Shoot Him, Walkabout, Mama, Pump, Regina, A Day Called Zero, Birthday, Coldsweat, Blue Eyed Pop, Motorcrash, and Delicious Demo. Encores consisted of Hit, F*cking in RhythmSorrow and Luftguitar. MOJO understands that the set was also recorded for posterity, although whether it will be released remains unclear.

Crackers Remix by Pluseinn

columbus_cracker.jpg
Just when the storm blew over, the storm hit Iceland. We had a fantastic storm over the weekend here in Iceland. The earth trembled. Or was it because Curver had an installation in Akureyri over the weekend? No I don’t think so.
But now is the time to add the Pluseinn Remix of Crackers, which is one of the best ones we have heard of late.
Have a listen and let us know what you think!

It Is Been A Blast

The last few weeks have been a blast for Ghostigital. We have travelled by car over 6000 kilometers and flown in aeroplanes a number of miles. Maths not my strongest point. The tour with Melvins is one of the best things to happen as it was such a pleasure to do and experience.

Upon on our return to Iceland we played the Icelandairwaves festival with Steintryggur, Stilluppsteypa, Dälek and Otto Von Schirach. That was also tops for us, to conclude this spree of concerts as a duo in Iðnó. We did well I must say.

We have in lined up a couple of new things to reveil; we will have a new remix later this week by Arni+1, new video. We had the concert at iðnó recorded so we will hope that should be ready soon.

Our little competition for is still going until November 1st.
