Within two weeks time the Icelandic Government is due to sign the contract that gives Magma Energy Sweden Ab the exclusive rights to exploit the Icelandic energy resources for the next 65 years, renewable for other 65 years!

On Tuesday 13th July a Formal Proposal was submitted to the Public Representative of the Icelandic Parliament, signed by Björk Guðmundsdóttir, Jon Thorisson (the Icelandic assistant to Eva Joly) and the writer Oddny Eir. This Proposal, concerning the sale of Iceland’s natural resources to the company Magma Energy, aims to initiate an open discussion and encourage reconsideration of this sale, ensuring that the interests of the public are being protected and that clarification is achieved on all aspects of this decisive case concerning the future of Iceland.

In addition to the Proposal, Björk Guðmundsdóttir, Jon Thorisson and Oddny Eir have also put forward several questions they feel must be asked by the government, by the parliament and by the public before this business exchange can continue.

Björk will hold a press conference with a performance on Monday 19th July at 4.00pm in the Nordic House, Reykjavik.

Í ábendingunni segir að í ljósi þess hve ofangreint sölu- og samningaferli í Magma-málinu hefur verið umdeilt og ógagnsætt, sé mikilvægt að umboðsmaður Alþingis taki það til skoðunar til að vita hvort hagsmuna almennings hafi verið gætt á fullnægjandi hátt og hvort málsmeðferð stjórnvalda hafi samræmst lögum og vönduðum stjórnsýsluháttum.

Now we have finished our 2 concerts here at the Donau Festival. The first gig was our first one since October, and being the old dogs we are, we have lost none of our charm and godliness.
Our second concert was with Finnbogi. It was aswell amazing.
We are heading back home, delayed a little by the Eyjafjallajökull eruption.

The song here is Scary Electric Tongue, which will be on our next record, and will feature Alan Vega from Suicide.

Next move of Ghostigital is doing two concerts in at the Donau Festival Krems in Austria. One with Finnbogi and the other one as core Ghostigital.

Also in May we will be performing in Istanbul at The Morning Line, as specially composed piece. This will be on the 22nd of May. The piece is called Cannibal In Tuxedo [internal-external]

The birthday song for Nylo, the Living Arts Museum, in Reykjavik, as performed on their Birthday tonight in Reykjavik.

We will go to Ethiopia for a musical excursion. Some tweets and ramblings can be expected from that next week.

Continued work on our 3rd studio album. Yes, work has commenced and we are hoping to finish in May.

Mr E work on the new Gorillaz album will not see the light of day. His contribution did not make the final cut. C’est la vie, and he ain’t sorry at all. Just one of those things. The greatest song he was not on! Will he get interviews out of this, media coverage for NOT being on the record?

The concert we done with Finnbogi Pétursson on A Quiet Afternooon at the Icelandairwaves Festival 2009 is now out, but only as a digital release.
The concert is edited and remastered by Curver.
The concert was rather unique, but of course, due to the fact we used unlimited amount of smoke and noise.

The release date is 31. december 2009 for A Quiet Afternoon!
